Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard courts
A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his first title for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging year, achieving just one win at the big events and undergoing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in particular - resulted in him dropping out of the top ten and finally splitting with former coach his previous coach.
Currently training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently advanced in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought competitive triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.
It is Medvedev's first trophy after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hardcourt after March of the previous year.
Success also indicates he has achieved 21 championships at twenty-one distinct competitions.
"For the first time I'm at a tournament with my two daughters at once, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," commented ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the first title I got when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had been defeated in his past six finals, featuring in that event previously this season.
His defensive strategy and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had caused observers to wonder if his capacity to perform at the highest level was finished.
But the player has made changes in the past month, attempting to approach the net and play assertively, reinforced by an improved serving game.
Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, taking 4 of the final five games to go ahead.
Both players swapped break points in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial ATP Tour title, gained dominance to push for a decider.
Moutet saved 4 initial opportunities in a close third set before Medvedev secured a break to fifteen to secure the win.
Appropriately, Medvedev earned the title with a shot at the net, with Moutet incapable to control a volley after over two and a half hours.
